Frequently Asked Questions

Do you use sterile needles?

All needles are sterile and individually packaged for one-time use only.

What if I am afraid of needles?

I meet and work with many patients that are not very excited about needles being used to facilitate healing. Be assured, once they give it a try most people find acupuncture extremely helpful, relaxing, and often fall asleep during treatment.  The needles are super thin and generally do not create any uncomfortable sensations.  Just let me know how you are feeling and I will make sure you are comfortable!

Do I accept Insurance?

I am not currently contracted with any insurers. But many policies provide out-of-network benefits. We are happy to help you determine if your policy qualifies. If you have met your deductible and once we receive an initial explanation of benefits from the insurance company we can determine your copayment. If you have not met your deductible we are happy to submit claims that will help contribute to meeting your deductible. We do ask that you come prepared to pay for your initial visit to allow us time to verify and confirm benefits.

Other reimbursement options:

ITEMIZED RECEIPT: Acupuncture is also a medical deduction on your annual tax return so we can provide a statement for you in that case at your request.

FSA and HSA cards accepted

SUPERBILL: if you have acupuncture benefits for an insurance plan we cannot bill in-house we are happy to provide a Superbill for you to submit to your insurance for any reimbursement. This is a form we fill out with all the codes necessary for reimbursement sent directly to you.

Do I accept Workers Compensation?

Yes, once I receive authorization and approved visits from your assigned WC doctor you are free to make an appointment.

Important for your First Visit

The initial intake and treatment involves taking a detailed medical history as well as an in-depth look at current complaints.  I also ask that you bring any blood work or diagnostics you have had over the last year, along with the intake forms. If you cannot fill them out before arriving please arrive 15 minutes early to do so.

You will receive acupuncture that day along with a diagnosis and proposed treatment plan.  This visit is approximately 1 and ½ hours.
